Freebie Friday: Featuring Guest AJ Bodine

Hello Scribblers....
Happy FRIDAY!!!

Are you ready for this weeks Freebie Friday image?!?!
And guess what???
Today we are having a Freebie Friday Feature Guest! (try saying that 10 times)
Before we move on and before I forget... here is this weeks Friday Freebie:
F 60 Lock Hearts

And here is our Freebie Friday Featured Guest!!
Hi, my name is AJ. I'm a wife and mom, living in North Carolina, but am originally from Wisconsin. I'm a lifelong sports fan, and there's almost no sport I don't enjoy watching, especially baseball.   I work from home part time, take care of my family and in my spare time, I fit in time to papercraft. Cardmaking mainly, but I do scrapbook here and there.  I also love working with concrete, I make garden art in the summer time.  I also love to sew, read, cook, garden and travel. That about sums up my life, now onto why I'm here...

I'm so excited to be guest designing for Scribbles first Freebie Feature Friday!  When I first saw this image, I knew immediately the colors I wanted to highlight it with.  Traditional reds and pinks, then throw in some kraft papers with gold accents.  I just had to make that super cute heart key sparkly and I'm so happy with the way it turned out.  I had a lot of fun creating this card, I hope you'll join me in playing around with this Scribbles Freebie Friday image, to see what you'll come up with!

Thank you AJ, for being our guest this week.  We really enjoyed your project thoroughly!!

Hope everyone has a great weekend!

Hugs.

Freebie Friday: Double post!

Hello my fine Scribbling friends! How are you all this fantastic day! I have had the whole week of work and have done very little over the week after having the most amazing weekend with friends and to pick the cherry on the cake Jono ( my boyfriend) proposed on Valentine's day! I know right how mad is that - I am over the moon! Here's a look at the ring.

I was absolutely gobsmacked! When he whipped this out and to make me squee even more.. it Tardis blue! Now if you know what I am like I love Dro Who so this is just amazing! To take advantage of my good mood I have two...that's right two images for you this week!

Are you sensing a theme to this post....I have used the layered cake in my image to give you a super easy print and stick card if you are in a rush!

All you need to do is print on some card and then fold or print on come card and mount on some other card and fold. Up to you really! I hope that you have a fantastic week and I shall see you next week for our first Feature Friday. Don't forget if you want to be featured just leave a comment below and I shall be in touch!

Scribbles Designs Challenge #26 Clean and Simple

Scribbles Designs Challenge #26
Clean and Simple
There are many different kinds of card making styles and clean and simple is one of them.  However, not everyone sees clean and simple the same way.  For some it might mean an uncluttered design with lots of white space, for others it might be a very simple layout but with a few embellishments here and there.  For the purposes of our challenge this month, we'd like to see a very simple layout with either a minimum of embellishments or none at all, allowing the focus of your creation to be a well coloured image.  Bring on the white space and show us what you've got.

And we thank you for spending some time here on our spot in blog-land. We're excited to showcase our talented women & their incredible creative work.  We think that you will enjoy the Scribbles Designs images
and the creative direction that ensues.

Any questions about the challenge? Please read our Challenge Rules located in the right sidebar.

Freebie Friday: Bird Love

Hello Friday Scribblers! I hope that you have a great week! Mine has been ever so slow but I think because that is because I have next week off work, Whoo!! It is also Viking week here in York and I am going to a Viking wedding on Valentines - I am so excited about this. I shall have to share photos. but to get you in the loving mood this weekend I have a lovey stamp to share with you today.

Aren't the cute! I decide to use my Distress markers and colour them like Love Birds. I was going to red drawn them with a little bow and top hat but I couldn't get it to look right. But I like how it's turned out!

I love doing simple card with a strong image. The other thought that I had was to drawn them really big and have the focus on the heart in the middle. What do think I might re do this and share that with you guys as well. What do you think?

I hope that you have a great weekend and a fab Valentines.

Love is in the Air...

I have a story to share with you all today.  It is about one of the beloved characters who resides in Scribbles Land.  His name is Hedgy and for those of you who haven't met him yet, this is what he looks like...

http://buyscribblesdesigns.blogspot.ca/2013/09/223-hedgehog-300.html
Adorable right?!  Well, as it happens, one day Hedgie was out for a stroll and from a distance he spotted someone who sent his heart all aflutter...

He was so taken with this individual that he had to backtrack a bit and hide around the back of a willow tree so that he could watch her for a few moments without being too obvious...

http://buyscribblesdesigns.blogspot.ca/2013/09/225-hedgehog-peek-boo-300.html
Now of course he didn't want to appear like he was a stalker.  That is not Hedgie at all, but he did watch her long enough to find out what Garden District she was headed to.  Armed with that knowledge, Hedgie headed home to write her a letter.  He decided that he would use his fountain pen for most of the letter as he wanted to appear very grown up...

Then he added a nice little drawing of a rose...

using his pencil....

However, he wanted to add a bit of colour as well; so, he got out his crayons and used them too...

Hedgie lumbered down and finished writing a beautiful letter telling his crush all about himself and when he was done he added a bunch of hearts that he managed to cut out all on his own which was quite a feat for our little friend...

For the next few days, Hedgie spent hours sitting at the window looking for the postman to arrive...

http://buyscribblesdesigns.blogspot.ca/2013/09/224-hedgehog-close-200.html

Soon after, Hedgie received a letter back in the mail.  Apparently he hadn't been all that stealthy that first day and the object of his affections saw him peeking around the willow tree.  It seems that she too was taken with our little friend and wanted to get to know him better as well.  So, she agreed to meet up with Hedgie at the local watering hole.

Well, Hedgie was just so excited and he wanted this first meeting to go well; so, he brought her some pretty wildflowers...

http://buyscribblesdesigns.blogspot.ca/2014/02/235-hedgie-with-flowers-300.html
Hedgie's crush was so thrilled that she took a snapshot of Hedgie with the flowers, so that she could put it in her scrapbook later...

http://buyscribblesdesigns.blogspot.ca/2014/03/236-hedgie-snap-shot-300.html
That initial meeting went so well that they decided to see each other again the following week.  During the time leading up to their next date they chatted on the phone and got to know each other even better.

For their next date, Hedgie brought her a box of chocolates in the shape of a heart...

http://buyscribblesdesigns.blogspot.ca/2014/01/233-hedgehog-heart-300.html
Our boy was definitely smitten and thankfully it seemed, so was she!  As time went by and they grew closer, it was apparent that this was a love that could last.  Hedgie was certainly in love and it showed.  He was ready to give his heart to someone else...

http://buyscribblesdesigns.blogspot.ca/2014/02/234-hedgie-in-love-300.html

Hedgie finally had a sweetheart to call his own...

It turns out that love at first sight really does happen and for this particular couple it was a love, forever meant to be...

Will we ever get a glimpse of Hedgie's true love?  Well, only time will tell...

So many digitals, so many possibilities!

Sandy has recently been very busy adding a wide variety of images to the store.  Have you checked out the freebie section lately (look for FREE in the labels section)?  Along with the three free images above, you'll find 96 more of them!  Yes, you read that correctly--there are 99 freebies currently in the store and given that today (Friday) is the day that my fellow teammie Sam hosts her own special post where she shares a free image with you all, there should now be 100 of them!  That is incredibly generous of Sandy; so, please be sure to leave her some love if you grab any of those freebies.  Don't forget that you can find one of them up for grabs over in our current challenge which we'd love for you to enter, if you haven't already. You still have the rest of today and most of tomorrow to enter our current Winter Wonderland challenge.  You can find out all the details you need for participating and for grabbing the special freebie, by clicking HERE.  Oh and don't forget to stop by on Sunday, when it is time to find out the theme of our new challenge.

If you are not yet a follower, now is the perfect time to become one. This way you won't miss out on learning about all the wonderful new images being added to the store, missing out on the latest antics and adventures of your favourites characters or on all the special events happening over here at the Scribbles Designs Challenge blog!

Well guys, that is it for today. Wishing you all a wonderful Valentine's Day coming up tomorrow unless you live in New Zealand like our team member Suze, or another country on the other side of the world, in which case it is already February 14th.  Wherever you are in the world, I hope that you get to cuddle up to someone very special in your life, today and every day!

Until next time!

Don't forget to keep commenting if you would like to be featured and get early access to some images!

You may have guessed the theme for this month... As it is Heart Month and Valentines is just round the corner I'm going to go all lovey dovey! I love seeing your cards!

Free Digi Paper has expired - find the paper here....

I love being able to use simple images and using them in different ways! I hope that you like the paper and don't forget to stop by next week for another image!

An Early Spring Has Been Predicted

dee dee dee dit--dee dee dee dit--dee dee dee dit--dee dee dee dit

We interupt your day to bring you the following news bulletin---
http://buyscribblesdesigns.blogspot.ca/2014/01/717-groundhog-300.html
#717 Groundhog

If you missed the news on Monday, I am VERY happy to tell you that Ontario's Wiarton Willy predicts an early spring!   Yippee!!!  That is good news for all of us freezing up here in Canada.  For those of you who may be unaware, Wiarton Willie is the official groundhog day predictor for whether spring will come early or late in Canada.  Of course at the time of his prediction, a massive snowstorm storm swept over central Canada and more bad weather is expected.  Apparently, it has been suggested that our Wiarton Willie is being rather optimistic this year making him a glass-half-full kind of guy.  However, if he is then his lesser-known buddy, Winnipeg Willow is an optimist as well.  Unfortunately, his other counterparts, Nova Scotia's Shubenacadie Sam and Pennsylvania's Punxsutawney Phil don't seem to agree with Willie's and Willow's predictions as they both spotted their shadows.

Given that the temperatures these past few weeks in Northern Ontario have been running in the minus 20s to minus 30's degrees Celsius, I'm REALLY hoping Willie gets this one correct.  Last year, Willie correctly predicted the extremely long winter that plagued much of Canada; so there is hope his prediction will come true this year as well.  .If he does get it right, you'll be able to start putting away those snow shovels and start taking out your umbrellas and sunglasses very soon!

Now back to our regularly scheduled program...

If you are feeling optimistic too and want to spread the good news, or want to get started on your spring cards now, how about purchasing one of these wonderful new images!  If you do create a card with one of these images OR any of Sandy's digis, be sure to send us a link to your project once posted.  We love seeing what people are up to with Scribbles Designs images!

Clicking on either of the images should bring you to their location in the Scribbles Designs store.

So many digitals, so many possibilities!

Have you seen all the new images to go into the store in the past couple weeks?  There are lots of fabulous new ones to entice you.  There are also some great new freebies added to the mix.  Don't forget that each Friday, my fellow teammie Sam hosts her own special post where she shares a free image with you all.  And, as always, there is another freebie up for grabs over in our current challenge which we'd love for you to enter, if you haven't already. This month the theme is Winter Wonderland and you have until 9:00 p.m. PST on February 14th to enter. You can find out all the details you need for participating and for grabbing the special freebie, by clicking HERE.

If you are not yet a follower, now is the perfect time to become one. Well guys, that is it for today. Keep your fingers crossed that indeed, spring is right around the corner!

Until next time!
