The Scribbles Designs Masquerade

Many people, both big and small, are out there getting into the spirit of Hallowe'en.  A great many of them are spending time and money to come up with ideas for their costumes.  Well, the beloved characters of Scribbles Designs are no different.  Check out what each of them is planning to wear to tonight's Scribbles Designs Masquerade--a party specifically for all the Scribbles Designs characters.

#402 Catman

First up, meet Porthos.  You've seen him as Nimble Puss and tonight he is pretending to be Catman.  He can't wait for the party to get started.  He has been practicing superhero moves all week.  He tends to run a bit to the fluffy side but I think he looks rather svelte in that outfit, don't you?  In fact, he looks paw-sitively purr-fect to me.

#130 Lori Halloween Diva

Next up is Lori.  She has decided to don a pumpkin costume.  While she thought it was a good idea to begin with--she thought it would a good way for showing off those great legs of hers--it isn't exactly easy to manoeuvre around in.  She keeps hitting one side of the pumpkin in particular as she goes through doorways.  If she keeps this up, she is going to require a pumpkin patch to repair her poor jack-'o-lantern!

#411 Scaredy Cat

Next up it is time to take a look at what Athos is planning on wearing.  Athos is Scribbles Designs resident Alley Cat and if he looks fur-miliar that is because you've met him on a few occasion before.  Athos tends to think of himself as a bit of a ladies' cat so he has decided to dress up as a ghost.  He figures that if he can scare the ladies attending the party bad enough, they'll just fall faint into his arms.  I'm afraid he is going to be a bit disappointed at the results.  That outfit isn't exactly scare-worthy but we won't tell him and burst his bubble. He might get a bit hiss-terical.

#133 Jane Witch Diva

Jane has decided that she will be going as a sexy witch.  I'd say she has a good chance of pulling it off.  Let's hope that nobody annoys her too much at the party this evening.  It won't be a pretty sight if she gets angry and flies off the handle--the broom handle that is.

#222 Grim Reap-Brrr

Brrr has decided that he is going to dress up as the Grim Reaper.  Since black is his colour, this outfit suits him perfectly.  Brrnice will be going out with him but she hasn't settled on a costume yet.  Brrr and Brrrnice have been arguing about what she should wear.  Brrr doesn't want her to wear anything too revealing or there might just be some grim reaper-cussions for anyone caught staring at her during the night.

#309 Count DraCarl

Carl is going as the Count.  He is well aware of the incredible appeal of vampires these days.  He figures by going as one, it will give him an edge with all the single ladies at the party.  Hopefully, he doesn't become too much of a pain in the neck for everyone.  However, who knows, he might just find the right lady and it will be love at first bite!

#230 Halloween Hedgie

Hedgie is going as a masked crusader.  Not THE Masked Crusader of course, just a generic one.  He's looking pretty sharp don't you think?  Hedgie is really hoping that they will have his favourite snack at the party tonight--Prickled Onions.  He is also hoping that they'll play one of his favourite games--Hide and Squeak.  Regardless of what happens, you know this hedgehog is going to have fun!

#719 Woolley Pumpkin

Finally, that leaves Mr. Wool.  Mr. Wool has also decided to dress up as pumpkin.  However he didn't really think the logistics of this costume out very well.  Once he gets to the party he won't be able to do much moving around.  It is too baaaaaad really, he is quite the dancer.  Hopefully no one will ram into him throughout the night and tip him over.  Oh and if he is really lucky, someone will be kind and bring him over some Baaaa-khlava as a snack later in the evening!


Well there you go.  That is everyone who had their costume picked out already this morning in time for this post to go out.  I'm sure they are all going to have a fabulous time tonight.  Unfortunately, I won't be able to get any pictures from the bash as it is invite only and you have to be two dimensional to attend--just kidding, but you do have to be a Scribbles Designs character.  Hmmm....maybe Sandy can make me into a drawing so I can sneak into one of their parties down the line.  I'll put it on my Christmas wish list...

The Witching Hour is Near

The witching hour is fast approaching so I figured now was the perfect time to introduce some more images from the store.

Hallowe'en originated from two different avenues coming together: pagan and Christian traditions. Although today, it has mainly lost its religious connection and is now more of a fun night for children to dress up and have a little fun.  It is celebrated in several nations around the world, each having its own set of customs.  There are also numerous symbols that are associated with Halloween.

For those of you who do celebrate this unique custom, you are in for a treat as Sandy has a number of fabulous images perfect for any Hallowe'en card that you may need to create.  Here are a selection of images currently in the store...

Next up we have quite a selection of hats.  Any witch would be proud to own and wear one of these wonderful hats.  My favourite comes complete with its own bat and webbing.  You'd definitely be in the running for best witches' costume with one of these beauties.

Then of course there is this adorable bat image.  If you ever had to run into a vampire bat, you'd want it to be this one.  Just don't let him get too close with those teeth and you should be okay.

'Tis the Season!

Brrr and the family are busy getting ready for the upcoming winter festivities.  Today seemed the perfect day to get some decorating done.  Brrrnice decided to take some snapshots of the occasion and send them to me.  We have become quite the email pals.

We start out with Brrr getting ready to brave the cold and do some work outside.  He is wearing the scarf that Brrrnice crocheted for him last Christmas and the earmuffs that baby Brrr gave to him.  He looks rather dashing in them doesn't he?

Brrr and the family take things rather serious at Christmas time and this year they decided to put a great big piece of subway art out in the yard for all passing by to see. The way their home is set up, they were easily able to affix it to a post out front.  This should remind everyone passing by to pause and reflect for a moment, on the awe of the holidays.

Brrr also put some holly bows up all over the place, just to give the yard a bit more of a festive look.

While Brrr was busy getting his own yard ready for the holidays, his neighbour across the street was busy getting his truck loaded with lots of presents and a tree for the children's ward of the local Hospital.  Brrr and the family live in a town where giving to those in need or those experiencing unfortunate circumstances, is very important.  Children having to be in the hospital over the holidays is rather sad and the community wanted to help them feel a little bit better.  The collection they gathered was pretty impressive and Brrr's neighbour was charged with getting it all over to the hospital later today.  Brrrnice thought that I'd like to see how much was collected and so she took a picture just before their neighbour took off on his delivery.

Next up it was time for Brrr to head back indoors and put up the Christmas lights.  After removing his outdoor gear, he decided to don his Santa hat to help him get into the spirit even more.  Now contrary to popular belief, penguins aren't all that great with electrical equipment.  Even though Brrr now has a degree in Refrigeration and Cooling, that hasn't helped him with the lighting situation.  Brrr seems to have gotten himself into rather the tangle and of course Brrrnice couldn't resist taking a snapshot of him this way.

Brrr finally did manage to get himself untangled and get those Christmas lights up.  He provided lots of laughter for the entire family much to his own chagrin.

It was a long day for Brrr and he had to have the patience of an angel to get through it all.  In fact, with just the right lighting, and if you squint a certain way, you can actually glimpse a set of wings and a halo!

Once again, Brrnice offered up the images to her good friend Sandy to turn into digital designs, just so that all of you can have a chance to own one of these sweet pics yourself.  If you click on each of the images above, they will take you to their locations in the store, except of course for the holly bow which is currently still a freebie.

Summertime Sundaes

Summertime is upon us and for many, that means an extra treat or two.

Once upon a time, way before I was born of course, the local ice cream parlour was where all the action was at.  Whether meeting up with friends or taking your sweetie out on a date, the parlour was the place to be. Sitting at the counter or at a more intimate table for two, many couples got to know each other while consuming a sundae or even sharing an ice cream float.  Remember those?

It is too bad that all but a few ice cream parlours still exist in this day and age and they certainly aren't the bevy of activity they once were.  Why not bring the parlour right into your home?  You can with these sweet treats from Sandy.  Best of all they are calorie free!

A Proper Introduction to the Newest Images in the Scribbles Designs Store

Hello everyone!  My name is Lisa and I am part of the Design Team here over at Scribbles Designs Challenges.  If you are familiar with my blog, Décosse's Dynamite Doodles, then you have already been properly introduced to many of the latest Scribbles Designs stamps.  If not, then I have a treat for the rest of you.  Today is the day to become acquainted with all of the most recent wonderful new characters and images available for purchase in the Scribbles Designs store.

 At the beginning of March some new faces showed up in the store...
  

Meet Carl O'Brian, close cousin to Carl. He was over visiting from Ireland, spending St. Patrick's with Carl and the fam.  He had a fabulous time while here.  This is a snapshot from that vacation.  He'd love for you take his picture home with you.  You can find him in the store HERE.




Next up we have Lep-Brrr-chaun. After finishing up with all his Valentine's day gigs for the year, Brrr moonlighted for St. Patrick's Day to bring in a little extra cash.  He does have a Mrs. and a Baby Brr to take care of you know.  You can find him in the store HERE.









This leprechaun hat is perfect for all your St. Patrick's cards either alone or atop the head of your favourite characters.  You can grab it now so that you'll be ready for next year's cards.  Mr. Wool or Brrr would look dashing sporting one of these atop their heads!  You can find it in the store HERE.





Whether you are a leprechaun or not, we could all use a pot of gold!   Now if only it were real gold we could use it to buy all the digis we want!  You can find it in the store HERE.







 Mr Wool, another beloved Scribbles Designs character, also celebrated St. Patrick's Day in style this past March.  He even headed over to the local pub that day,  brought his own clover and everything.  You can find him in the store HERE.








Since it was the beginning of March, someone got into the Easter treats a tad bit early and as a result developed a little spread. This bunny is still having problems getting back down his rabbit hole!  You can find this cute little bunny butt in the store HERE.

Leave it to these two, to make another appearance. They just can't help but bask in the limelight. Don't tell them but they are a little egocentric and just don't know when to go home but that is okay because we love them so much.  If you have either Brrr or Mr. Wool, these close up stamps are the perfect accompaniment. They'd be great to use on the inside of the card coloured up or simply as line-art.  You could also print them out on the envelope for a special treat!  The close of Brr can be found in the store HERE and the close of Mr Wool can be found in the store HERE.

Then, a couple of weeks later, Sandy launched six new images...

Brr was all set for his vacation in the Canadian Rockies.  He is from British Columbia after all and it was time to explore some of the local hiking trails.  Good thing he had his map though, there were a couple of times he headed down the wrong pathway.  Help keep Brr on the straight and narrow by bringing him home with you.  Then the two of you can hit the trails together.  You can find him in the store HERE.






While on vacation, Brr stayed at a wonderful hotel and got the opportunity to try out his new snorkeling gear.  Believe it or not he is actually a bit nervous in the water so he brought along his trusted floatie Burt to help him out.  I know, it is a little silly, a penguin who is afraid of the water.  He has been seeing a psychiatrist to help him with his issues but don't tell him I told you.  He is a bit embarrassed about the whole deal.  If you'd like to support Brr while dealing with his problems you could bring him home and help him work through things by putting him on some of your cards.  Just make sure that if he goes anywhere near water, that Burt stays with him.  You don't want to see a penguin when it is all riled up.  It isn't a pretty sight.  You can find Brrr-ubbles in the store HERE.

Suave Carl.  Cultured Carl.  Sophisticated Carl.   Doesn't matter what we call him, Carl is one cool dude!  Nothing more need be said.  To bring this worldly amphibian home with you, click HERE to find him in the store.

 This amphibian family really likes the name Carl in all its derivatives!  Let me introduce you to another of the cousins in this clan, Carlos.  He was up from Mexico to spend some time with us during the Fiesta Tuesday celebration.  This was a party right up his alley.  Now if you have never been serenaded to by an amphibian you have no idea what you are missing.  Bring the dulcet tones of Carlos home with you by finding him in the store HERE.

Next meet the wonderful Flamingos, Frank and Farrah.

Now they are not actually a couple....not yet anyways.  I've had the pleasure of working with the handsome Frank.  Isn't he just the most manly flamingo you have ever seen?  He draws you in with those steely eyes and you become putty in his wings. Frank is so cool he actually walks on water--just one more reason the ladies flock to his side.  One day soon, one of those ladies just might by Farrah.  She is pretty easy on the eyes herself, and a bit of a flirt if truth be known.  You never know what might happen to bring the two of these flamingos together one day.  Stay tuned to see if there is a romance in their future.  If you'd like to bring them home and do a little matchmaking of your own, you can find Farrah in the store HERE and Frank HERE.


A few days later, even more awesome images were unveiled. 




However, it has become rather apparent, that there is a serious problem going on with a couple of our bunnies. They've indulged so much, they can no longer face the world anymore. Such a shame! Will you take this bunny home and give him the love and attention he needs so he'll stop turning to food to solve all his problems?  You can find him in the store HERE









This Bunny on the other hand, we'll call him "B", is suffering no self esteem issues. Although he does need to be careful.   He was put in witness protection after witnessing a savage theft in the carrot patch.  Four other bunnies and a chick playing it real cool were brought in for questioning. We'll have to see how it all plays out. In the meantime "B" really needs to keep his face hidden. Will you take him home and protect him?  You can find him in the store HERE. Don't worry, we have serious security in the store and there is no fear that "B" will fall into the wrong hands.






Here is the truck that was impounded from the 'carrot theft' incidence. Since all paw prints have been lifted and fur collected, it has been released for auction. I hear you can get a pretty good deal on it over at Scribbles Designs by going HERE.





A little over a week later, we meet up with "B" and his adventures once again.  Now even though Easter has passed it is never too late to get a jump start on your images for next year.


So we know that "B" witnessed a savage theft in the carrot patch and is in witness protection. Well, the trial is set for some time in May so starting to go a little stir crazy, he decided that he was not going to stay stuck indoors. This snapshot was from the town's Easter Pageant from a few week's back. Unfortunately, I can't share his exact location for reasons of safety. However, if the media gets a hold of this picture from the local paper, and the bad guys learn where "B" is at, it might just be bye, bye, bunny!  If you would like to take this special snapshot of "B" home with you, it can be found HERE in the store. 



Here is a snapshot of the truck that brought in the eggs for the Easter Pageant. The one "B" is holding came from this wonderful stash of Easter eggs all donated by local townspeople. Once the trial is finished "B" just might just stick around this little town. They are a very generous group of people.  If you'd like to drive in your own Easter egg truck for next year's pageant, then you can get a pretty good deal on this vehicle too.  Go HERE for that deal.  Maybe Sandy was a used car salesman in a previous life.  You never know...



Guess who won for best decorated egg in the Easter Pageant? Yup, you guessed it, that is him, "B" jumping for joy after being chosen. Now he has even more incentive to stick around and call this place home.
