If you missed the first post with further details of our event, the challenge link up, prize list and sneak peeks of all DT projects, please click HERE to check it out. Each team member's creation has been inspired by something related to the holiday season. Carol is here today to continue our Christmas Inspiration Celebration with this yummy card inspired by her favourite holiday sweet treat...

Carol chose cherries as her favourite holiday sweet treat. Here is her reason:
"In New Zealand in December the new season of cherries come into the shops in time for Christmas (YAY) and there is nothing nicer than cake with cream cheese icing and cherries. It is summer here, so a cool drink, cake, a shady tree and a book are perfect."

and #013 Eat Cake Quote for her card.

  1. On Christmas Eve I make Delia Smith's (a famous British cook) recipe of a Christmas Chocolate Truffle torte . It is extremely calorific so it only gets made at Christmas , It is a mixture of Plain chocolate , cream , Rum and liquid glucose topped with amaretti biscuits . It is extremely moorish but only a very small portion is allowed ! . Can't wait !

  2. Yummy cupcake digi, my favorite Christmas treat is the fruitcake. Everyone shies away from the tasty cake in my family. To me the blend of flavors all mixed into a delightful shaped goody packaged treat is all I need for celebrating. Hugs, Lori m

  3. Very cute card! My favourite Christmas treat would be gingerbread man cookies! The reason is the cuteness but I definitely enjoy the flavour!

  4. Let me tell you there is not a sweet treat that I don't like! But if you are going to make me choose ... I love a good old fashioned sugar cookie. The kind where you make the dough, roll it in a log, refrigerate, then slice and bake. My Mom made these for us.

  5. So far this holiday season I've made two batches of our favorite sweet treat: buckeyes. Buckeyes are peanut butter balls dunked in a layer of chocolate and they look like a buckeye nut. My kids grew up with these fun treats and I often went to their classrooms to make them with their classes. The teachers loved them back then. Now I probably wouldn't be able to do that as so many kids have peanut allergies. We just introduced Arthur and Valerie to buckeyes and they love them too.

  6. The Almond Bars I make every year are my favorite! I have been making them since about 1987.... got the recipe from a friend at a cookie exchange and they are always a big hit!
