Challenge #116: Penguin Pals

Challenge #116
Penguin Pals

Hello everyone! Welcome to the Scribbles Designs Challenge blog. Whether you are new or one of our regulars, we are so thankful that you are here with us on our little spot in blogland. It is the 15th of the month and that means it is time for our next challenge to get started!

The very first Scribbles Designs Challenge started on January 15, 2013. That means that as of today, we are officially 10 years old!!! As we countdown to our birthday celebration in August, we thought it would be nice to allow each of our current team members to choose their favourite theme. As we are going in order of when each person joined the team, Sandy, the original creator and owner of the Scribbles Designs concept, is making the first choice.

Brrr (who is a penguin if you aren't aware) was Sandy's first main character. Thus, it is fitting that her choice for her favourite theme revolves around penguins. As such, our theme for this challenge is Penguin Pals and here is what you need to know to join us...

*Add one or more PENGUINS to your project.*

Our incredibly talented women are here to share their inspiring creative work featuring projects related to our Penguin Pals theme. We hope that you will enjoy the Scribbles Designs images and the creative direction that ensues.

Any questions about the challenge? Please read our Challenge Rules located in the right sidebar.

If you would like to purchase a Scribbles Designs image, please click HERE.

We are happy to provide you with a freebie for participating. Please note that this freebie will only be available until the end of the challenge. After that you may purchase it from the store…

Cheers to the New Year + A Flash Freebie

Happy New Year Everyone!!! It is a brand new year and a new opportunity to learn, grow, prosper, and of course, dream! These past few years have been somewhat rough on folks throughout the world. While we can hope that 2023 will be a much better, maybe more importantly, we should hope for the strength to get through any challenges we may face in these next 12 months!

I have created a flash freebie to help you usher in the new year in a crafty way. It is in honour of the Chinese New Year which happens to be the Year of the Rabbit for 2023. I have created four different variations, available in two formats:
  • Two with bunny tail--one with the text 'year of' added and the other with no additional text.
  • Two with bunny ears--one with the text 'year of' added and the other with no additional text.
We hope that you will make some 'Happy New Year' cards with one of these images and help get someone's New Year off to a great start; or, maybe you have some friends or family out there that are real bunny lovers! Whichever is the case, we hope that you can make use of one of these images. Check them out...

Wishing you all a happy and healthy year ahead! May you be able to face and conquer any challenges that come your way in 2023!

Well, that is it for this one. Just a reminder that there will be no midway post (normally scheduled for the 1st of the month). You can still join in our current challenge until January 14th (click the Challenge Info link above) and then we will be back with our first challenge of the new year on January 15th (as long as everything goes according to plan).

Happy New Year and happy crafting until we meet again!

 Not A Creature Was Stirring…Day 5

Hello folks! By the end of today, our Not A Creature Was Stirring Christmas Celebration officially comes to an end. Over the course of the last five days, I have popped by to showcase creations from our Design Team.

If you haven't yet had the opportunity to participate in our Celebration you can find the first post with the challenge link up by clicking HERE to check it out. To see Helen's project and the image available to be won from Day One of our event, click HERE. To see Suze's project and the image available to be won from Day Two, click HERE. To see Nick's project and the image available to be won from Day Three, click HERE. To see Diane Louise's project and the image available to be won from Day Four, click HERE.

During our event this year, we are paying homage to the many furry and feathered friends associated with the holiday season . As such, each team member's creation will feature one of Sandy's beloved animal or bird images. Janice is is here today to continue our Celebration with this sweet card...

https://mycraftroommakes.blogspot.com/

Janice has used #228 Twinkle Brrr for her card.

Complete today's task for a chance to win this image!

Today's Task:
  • Please leave us a comment letting us know the following:
    • Sandy has quite a number of images with animals and birds. Her most famous ones are Brrr (a penguin), Woolley (a sheep) and Carl (a frog) in their various iterations; but, there happen to be many, many more in the store--cats, dogs, bears, bunnies, birds, etc. For our final question, we want to know, which of Sandy's images that features an animal or bird happens to be YOUR FAVOURITE? If you need a refresher, you can check them out in the store HERE. To narrow your search, click on the various animal and bird related categories in the sidebar.
The names of those people who submit responses completing today's task will be put into a draw for the image shown above. One random winner will be chosen to receive a copy of today's featured image. Draw will be held on Jan 14th and the winner announcement for the entire celebration will be posted soon thereafter [okay, as soon as I can manage it].

While our Not A Creature Was Stirring Christmas Celebration has come to an end, don't forget that you still have until January 14th, 2023, to complete all the tasks and link up to the associated challenge.

Well that is it for today! To give myself and the team a bit of a break there will be no midway post for the current challenge. I will try and pop by the first week or so of January to post a simple reminder. Additionally, since our Inspiration team participated during our Christmas event, there will be no monthly Inspiration post. Instead, we will return on January 15th with our first challenge of the new year [as long as everything goes according to plan]; though, I may be back before the end of the year with a special post that you won't want to miss…hint, hint. See you again soon!
