Winners!!! Final Birthday Events

Hello folks! As we all know I am SERIOUSLY behind in winner announcements. We won't be having a new challenge until August 15th as the team is taking a month off. I'm going to do my best during this time to catch up on as many winner announcements as I can.

Over the last five days, I found a bit of time each day to work on this post and found the time today to finish it up so it is time to finally announce the winners for the final two events in our birthday celebration.

Event #5 of our Birthday Celebration was "Name That Penguin". I know it has been a while, so if you would like to refresh yourself on the details of that particular event, please click HERE to check them out.

For this event, I gave you a list of ten penguin images from the store and it was your job to let me know the NAME of the penguin featured in each image.

Here are the answers from that event. The name of each penguin is listed above the image and the name of the actual digi stamp and link to the store is underneath it:

BRRRNARD
 1-#257 Brrrnard

 BRRRNICE
2-#201 Brrrnice

 BRRRYCE
3-#259 Brrryce

 BRRR
4-#245 Brrr Heart Card

 EUGENE
5-#208 Eugene

 BRRR
6-#210 Brrr FBall

 BRRRNICE
7-#216 Princess Brrr-Leia

 BRRRAD
8-#258 Brrrad

 BABY BRRR
9-#200 Baby Penguin

 BRRR
10-#217 Darth Vad-Brrr

Okay, so technically, NO ONE got all 10 names correct. Remember I was looking for the name of the actual penguin not the name of the image. For example, the answer for #7 should have been Brrrnice not Princess Brr Leila. However, given the fact that everyone did the exact same thing, I am highly suspicious that I didn't explain myself clearly enough so I am going to still do the draw for the prize which was the following:

ONE random winner has won:
  • 3 images of the person's choice from those images showcased above.

Congratulations to...
Lori M.
(winner chosen randomly from all correctly submitted responses by Mini Web Tool)

Lori… Please send a message to decossesdynamitedoodles {at} yahoo {dot} ca, (don't forget to replace 'at' and 'dot' with the appropriate symbols) with the subject heading, "SD BD Event #5 Winner", and let me know the NUMBER and NAME of THREE images showcased above that you would like as your prize and I will get your choices out to you as soon as I can.

Additionally, people had the opportunity to win a bonus. I asked you to tell me the name of the image below AND tell me his importance in Brrr's life (i.e. what is he is helping Brrr deal with). The hint I gave was that if you were new to the blog and didn't know the answer, I suggested you search through old stories on the challenge blog to come up with why you believe he is important to Brrr.

#221 Burt

The name of the image is Burt and his importance can be found HERE:
While on vacation, Brr stayed at a wonderful hotel and got the opportunity to try out his new snorkeling gear.  Believe it or not he is actually a bit nervous in the water so he brought along his trusted floatie Burt to help him out.  I know, it is a little silly, a penguin who is afraid of the water.  He has been seeing a psychiatrist to help him with his issues but don't tell him I told you.  He is a bit embarrassed about the whole deal.  If you'd like to support Brr while dealing with his problems you could bring him home and help him work through things by putting him on some of your cards.  Just make sure that if he goes anywhere near water, that Burt stays with him.  You don't want to see a penguin when it is all riled up.  It isn't a pretty sight.

Those people who answered correctly had their name thrown into a draw. The ONE random winner who has won the image is:

Congratulations to...
Donna

Donna… Please send a message to decossesdynamitedoodles {at} yahoo {dot} ca, (don't forget to replace 'at' and 'dot' with the appropriate symbols) with the subject heading, "SD BD#5 Bonus Win: #221 Burt", and I will sent out the image to you as soon as I can.

In her answer, Donna asked the following question:
Have both Brrr and Burt abandoned the psychiatrist yet? They can be very expensive.

In an update that was provided HERE we found out
Oh and for those of you who have been wondering how the sessions with the psychiatrist have been going to help Brr get over his nervousness of the water, he has actually made a bit of progress.  He is still not up to leaving his trusted floatie Burt just yet, but there is hope that it might happen soon. Of course then Burt will need to see the psychiatrist to help him deal with abandonment issues from being left behind but we'll just take things one anxiety ridden character at a time, shall we?

So apparently, Brrr will be continuing therapy for a while yet. At least the good news is that in Canada, where Brrr is based, we don't have to pay for psychiatry so at least he hasn't had to pay out any money in his journey to overcome his issues.

That leaves us with the winner for Event #7 of our Birthday Celebration which was a request to provide "Feedback on your Favourite". In case you are wondering how we went from #5 to #7, event #6 was a limited time freebie. If you would like to refresh yourself on the details of event #7, please click HERE to check them out.

For the final event of our birthday celebration, I wanted to know which THREE Scribbles Designs PENGUIN images are your favourites?

Everyone who submitted a comment sharing a list of their THREE FAVOURITE Scribbles Designs PENGUIN images, had their name thrown into a draw and ONE random winner has won:
  • $3 worth of images from the Penguin section in the store.

Congratulations to...
Jeni Mc

Jeni… Please head to the penguin section in the store (link right above) and choose $3 worth of images. Then send a message to decossesdynamitedoodles {at} yahoo {dot} ca, (don't forget to replace 'at' and 'dot' with the appropriate symbols) with the subject heading, "SD BD#7 Winner", and let me know the NUMBER and NAME of the image(s) you have chosen for your prize and I will get your choice(s) out to you as soon as I can.

Well, that is it for this one. I'll do my very best to get to the remaining outstanding winner announcements as soon as I can possibly manage. Your patience is very much appreciated.

Until next time,

Challenge #90
Flip-a-Coin
Midway

Hello and welcome to the midway point of our current challenge. Here is a refresher of what we're looking for this time around. Our theme this month is Flip-a-Coin. It is a little bit more involved than our typical theme so be sure to read below so that you are aware of what you need to know to join us...

Flip-a-Coin Challenge

For this challenge, let the flip of a coin decide certain aspects of your card. Thanks to Beccy from Beccy’s Place for allowing me to use this ‘Flip-a-Coin’ idea that I saw over on her challenge blog.

Grab a coin and flip it. If it lands on ‘heads’, use the card ingredient listed in the first box under the title, ‘HEADS’. If it lands on ‘tails’, use the card ingredient listed in the first box under the title, ‘TAILS’.

Keep flipping the coin until you have selected items from each of the five rows, then create a card using the five ingredients you flipped for. Then be sure to let us know somewhere in your post, which ingredients you used.
