Scribbles Designs is celebrating its 4th birthday this month! 

 On January 15, 2013, we had our very first challenge.

Four years later we're still going strong.

In fact we've grown!

Our team is larger and we've added new features including

Bi-Weekly GDT Showcases and Freebie Fridays

We also sponsor a number of other Challenge Blogs each year!

The store has grown to sell over 660+ Scribbles Designs images 

plus there are over 140 FREEBIES!

The store now also sells Scribble Doodle Designs

(a collaborative effort between Sandy S. & Lisa D.)

and is home to selling designs by Décosse's Dynamite Doodles as well!

We've accomplished a lot in four years
and we plan on accomplishing a lot more!!!

It is time to break out the party hats and light up the candles on the birthday cake. Get ready to hang some streamers and blow up a few balloons too as Scribbles Designs has just turned four!!! In honour of this wonderful occasion, this challenge we are celebrating birthdays. Yours, mine, a family member's, a friend's, or even an acquaintance's. It doesn't matter who's birthday you are celebrating or how many candles are on the cake. Simply design a card commemorating someone's birthday. Let the birthday bonanza begin!

Welcome New Design Team Members!

Hey there folks. I'm pleased to announce that we have two new people joining our team full time. You'll be seeing projects from both of them starting on Sunday so now is a good time to get to know them a bit better.

My name is AJ and I'm excited to be part of the talented DT at Scribbles Designs.  I've been papercrafting for almost 18 years now.  I started with scrapbooking, but changed to cardmaking a few years ago.  I love working with digital images, it's so easy to print them and start coloring, which is my favorite part!  I live in South Carolina with my husband and son.  We have 2 rescue dogs that we love and adore.  My perfect day is coloring images, with a hot mug of tea, listening to podcasts or radio.

Before we get on with today's midway, from all of us here at Scribbles Designs, we wish you a very Happy New Year. May this year be a prosperous and healthy one for you all!!!

Now back to our midway. Here is a refresher of what the theme is all about:

It has been quite a year! Here on the challenge blog we've said goodbye to some DT Members and welcomed in new ones. Whatever our individual pathways in life, we have all probably experienced ups and downs, shared in good memories and sad ones, and thought about the changes that we'd like to make in the coming year ahead. As we get ready to say goodbye to one year and usher in a new, we thought that this challenge would be a good time to reflect that same kind of thinking in our projects. There is a great poem by Alfred Tennyson that says,

“Ring out the old, ring in the new,
Ring, happy bells, across the snow:
The year is going, let him go;
Ring out the false, ring in the true.”

There are several key words in this poem that can help provide a starting point for your creation: ring, old, new, happy, bells, snow, year, false, true. How you interpret them is up to you. For example, you might choose to use something old or something new in your project; or be literal and include bells or snow; maybe you'll focus on the word happy and take your creation in that direction; or maybe you will design a card that reflects something new like new year's or a new baby, a new home, etc. We look forward to seeing your creative take on this particular theme. Just be sure to let us know the key words you went with from the poem and how it links to the theme. It is time to bid adieu to 2016 and welcome the possibilities in store for 2017!

There are still two weeks left in the challenge and we hope that you will be able to join us here on our spot in blog-land. We have had just four entries so far this month so we'd really love to see some more of you join in!

Final Guest Scribblers Spotlight for the 4th Quarter of 2016!

Goodness, can you believe that it is Christmas Eve already?! It has been quite a year on many different fronts. This year we added a new feature to the blog and brought guests on for three months at a time. It has been so wonderful having our guests join us throughout the year, designing and inspiring us all. As it is the fourth Saturday of December, it has come time for the final Guest Scribblers Spotlight of 2016. Next month we have two brand new guests coming on to inspire you.
