Birthday Event #4: Word Search

Hello folks!  My goodness, where on earth have the last weeks gone?! Even though the last three weeks have flown by, there is still time to have a little fun in our 7th Birthday Celebration.

First though, if you haven't had the opportunity to participate in our 7th Birthday Celebration yet, you can find the first post published on Jan. 15th, with further details of our seven years in business, the challenge link up and prize list for that challenge, by clicking HERE to check it out. We had a Letter Hunt for Birthday Event #2 that ran from from Jan. 16th to the 21st with a deadline of January 31st and then also offered up a Flash Freebie on Jan. 25th for Birthday Event #3 that you can find HERE if you haven't already grabbed it.

Today, for Birthday Event #4 we have another fun activity planned. This time we have a word search for you to complete but we're not going to make it easy for you because where would the fun be in that!

Below you will find a grid with 14 rows across and the same number down filled with letters. Within this group of letters you will find 20 WORDS ASSOCIATED WITH PENGUINS. Since our focus is on Brrr and his family and friends this month, it is only fitting that our word search contain different kinds of vocabulary words that one might correlate with penguins.

What you need to do…

First, right click on the image and scroll down to choose the save option associated with your specific browser so that you can save the Word Search Puzzle to your computer. Then you can print it out and start looking for the words contained within.

Use a pencil (or pen if you're really brave) and start looking for words that are associated with penguins. For example, think about their environment, what they eat, what they look like, what they do, etc. That should give you a starting place to begin looking for your word list.

Remember there are 20 WORDS in this puzzle for you to find. We'll even give you your first word on the house:

1. Start up in the left hand corner where you see the letter A. 
2. Read down until you find the third letter which is a D. 
3. Then, under D you'll find the letters I, V, and E which give you the word DIVE.

 Now it is up to you to find the other 19 words!

Once you've come up with as many words as you are able to, please come back and leave a list of all your words in a comment on this post. I'll be leaving comment moderation on this post to ensure that it is fair for everyone.

Prizes!!!

Of course if we're going to make you go to all that effort to solve this puzzle, we're going to have some prizes for you to win!  We're going to have a few different levels for this particular game.

First, everyone who gets ALL 20 WORDS correct, will have their name thrown into a draw and ONE random winner will have a chance to win ONE of the following:

• #256 Penguin Party Boys; OR
• #251 Three B's Trio; OR
• $12 worth of images from the Penguin section in the store.

For those who ONLY get between 15 and 19 words correct, your name will be thrown into a draw and ONE random winner will have a chance to win:

• $9 worth of images from the Penguin section in the store.

For those who ONLY get between 10 and 14 words correct, your name will be thrown into a draw and ONE random winner will have a chance to win:

• $6 worth of images from the Penguin section in the store.

For those who ONLY get between 5 and 9 words correct, your name will be thrown into a draw and ONE random winner will have a chance to win:

• $3 worth of images from the Penguin section in the store.

Seems like pretty good incentive for joining in, doesn't it?!  Well, I hope that you agree and decide to join us during this special event to help celebrate our 7th birthday!

You will have until Friday, February 14th, at 8:59 p.m., PST, to complete the word search and submit the words you come up with, in a comment on this post. Please note that is possible that you may find words that are unintended. Only the 20 words from our master list will be accepted as correct guesses.

Hello everyone! We're halfway through our 7th Birthday Celebration and today we're popping in to share the midway projects designed by our team. Here is a refresher of what we're looking for this time around:

In honour of Brr and his family, we want you to CREATE A PROJECT THAT FEATURES A PENGUIN. If you feature Brrr himself or any other of Sandy's penguins in your creation your name will be thrown into a draw where you'll receive a special prize (more on that below).

Letter Hunt: Clue #6--The Final Clue...being released now

It is time for the release of clue #6, the final clue of our letter hunt!

Each day over the last six days you have been given the chance to work through clues revealing six different letters:

The first clue was released on this challenge blog on January 16th. If you missed the first stop, please go HERE and start from the beginning to ensure that you understand how to play along and get all the clues you will need to participate. Then, each day from January 17th to January 20th, clues were released on each of our four current full time DT members' blogs. The final clue to help you figure out what the word is, can be found below:

Clue #6

1. Go to the Scribbles Designs Store: http://buyscribblesdesigns.blogspot.ca
2. In the labels section which you will find on the right hand of the page in the sidebar, click on Penguins.
3. Scroll through all the penguin images until you find the fun image that I used on all the sneak peek frames (see below).
4. Once you have found the correct image in the store (below the watermarked image and 'buy' button), you will see, "Letter For January 21st:", along with the actual letter which is in block style and has a snowflake background. 
5. Make note of the letter that you see and keep track of it.
6. This is the last of your six letters.

Thanks so much to Suze for colouring the image used on all the sneak peek frames. I've included it on its own below so you know what image to look for in the store:

Don't forget, when going through the store, you need to keep scrolling down to the bottom and clicking on 'Older Post' in order to ensure that you see all images within the penguin section.

Now that you have gathered each of the six letters, you'll need to UNSCRAMBLE them in order to figure out the word. When you think that you have deciphered it, please leave a comment on this post letting me know what you think the word is. I'll be leaving comment moderation on this post to ensure that it is fair for everyone.

Prizes!!!

What is hunt without prizes?!  Everyone who gets the word correct will have a chance to win ONE of the following:
